Super Eagles await Maduka Okoye as squad hits 23 in Rabat

Maduka Okoye remains the lone absentee as the Super Eagles’ camp in Rabat swells to 23 players ahead of Thursday’s crucial CAF playoff semifinal against Gabon.

The arrival of Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Zaidu Sanusi, Bruno Onyemaechi, and Alhassan Yusuf has brought the squad to near full strength, leaving only the Udinese goalkeeper yet to report.

The team has been building steadily since the weekend, with a mix of seasoned internationals and emerging talents checking in.

Fulham trio Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, and Samuel Chukwueze were among the early arrivals, joined by Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, and Moses Simon.

Monday saw the inclusion of defenders William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Frederick, and Chidozie Awaziem, alongside goalkeepers Amas Obasogie and Stanley Nwabali.

Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman and Hull City’s Semi Ajayi followed shortly after.

Bright Osayi-Samuel and Raphael Onyedika added fresh dynamism to the squad, rounding out a group that now reflects depth, versatility, and attacking firepower.

With tactical sessions intensifying and team chemistry building, the coaching crew is expected to finalize match plans once Okoye arrives.
