Arsenal 4-0 Everton: Gunners make EPL history, go five points clear of Man City

Arsenal annihilated Everton 4-0 Wednesday evening at the Emirates to move five points clear of nearest challenger, Man City after 25 round of games.

The Gunners have now won 100 league games against the Toffees to become the first team to reach that milestone against an opponent in English Football League history.

It was Mikel Arteta’s team’s 19th win of the season as they condemn Everton to their heaviest defeat of the season.
Arsenal scored two goals in each half to avenge their loss against Sean Dyche’s men early this year.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring before Gabriel Martinelli made it two as the Gunners go into the break in front.

Martin Odegaard made it three on 71 minutes with a finish from close range after Leandro Trossard slides the ball across into the path of the Arsenal captain.
Martinelli taps in at the front post following Eddie Nketiah’s balla cross goal for the fourth goal of the game on 80 minutes.

Arsenal have now scored 4+ goals in a match against Everton for the 12th time in the Premier League, more than any side has done against another in the competition’s history.

The Gunners have also provided the first two players who have reached double figures in the Premier League this campaign with Saka and Martinelli taking their tallies to 10 each.

Saka, on his own, has become the sixth-youngest player in Premier League history to reach 50 goals+assists in the competition, after Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler, Cesc Fàbregas and Chris Sutton.
