Former Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose signs for non-league side, Bury FC

Former Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has signed for non-league side Bury FC.

Bury, the former club of retired Nigeria defender, Efetobore Sodje announced on Saturday that they would be adding the former Celtic player, who recently turned out for the Celtic Legends against Borussia Dortmund.

Ambrose spent five years at Celtic, featured in 169 games across all competitions and scored six times. He played under coaches Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers.

According to reports, Ambrose, at 35, ‘has a lot of playing left in him but he has already begun a gradual transition into life after football by coaching and helping young players come through at Livi.

The Nigerian left Celtic with 4 Premierships and 1 of each the League Cup and Scottish Cup.

He has played for Hibs, Livingston, St Johnstone, Morton and Queen of the South since leaving Celtic in 2017.
