History maker, Yamal: We still haven’t done the most important thing which is to win the trophy’

Spain’s 16 year old wonder boy, Lamine Yamal says he and his colleagues are focused on delivering the EURO 2024 trophy to the Spanish people after he inspire the La Rojas to a comeback 2-1 win against France in the first semifinal of the competition.

The Barcelona winger drew Spain level with a glorious curling finish after Kolo Muani had given Les Bleus a ninth minute lead.

At 16 years and 362 days, the goal not only made Yamal the youngest goalscorer in EURO history, he also surpassed Pelé’s record (17 years and 244 days) as the youngest player to appear in a World Cup or EURO semi-final.

‘I’m thrilled that we are in the final, but we still haven’t done the most important thing, which is win this. There were difficult moments for us out there. None of us expected to concede that early. [For my goal] I was aiming for exactly the top corner where my shot went in. It was a feeling of pure elation,’ he said courtesy UEFA.com.

The Spaniard was also named player of the match with the UEFA Technical Observer panel hailing the wing wizard.
