Iheanacho Named Leicester City Player Of The Season

Kelechi Iheanacho has received Leicester City’s Men’s Player of the Season award for 2022/23 after netting eight goals for the Foxes over the course of the past season, including strikes in wins over Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 26 year old Nigerian scored five times in 28 Premier League games, the third most by a Leicester City player in the just ended season while his five assists is also the second most by a Foxes’ player.

Iheanacho was voted the official Premier League player of the match thrice, the most by a Leicester City player after netting once and providing two assists in the come from behind 4-2 win at Aston Villa in February; scoring once and bagging an assist in the 4-1 demolition of Tottenham and netting one of the goals in the 2-1 defeat of Wolves.

The Nigerian also scored thrice in three FA Cup games to bring his total tally to eight in the just ended season.

Iheanacho joined the Foxes from Manchester City in August 2017. He has featured in 206 games across all competitions since his switch, scoring 33 times.

As many as 30 of the goals came in 150 Premier League games for Leicester City.
