Iheanacho, Ndidi help Leicester City set unwanted Premier League record
Foxes battered 6-2 by Tottenham in north London
Super Eagles stars Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were both in action at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday where their club, Leicester City got annihilated 6-2 by a rampant host, Tottenham.
Ndidi was on from the start in the game, his sixth in seven appearances while Iheanacho was subbed on for the fifth time in six games so far this term.
After a balanced first half which ended 2-2, the Foxes, characteritically lost their composure and conceeded four second half goals as they are still seraching for their first goal of the season and stay rooted at the bottom of the log with the point they earned when they drew 2-2 with Brentford at the King Power stadium in their opening game of the campaign.
Leicester have now conceded 22 goals in the first seven matches of the season; the most in Premier League history.
It was also Iheanacho’s ninth loss in 10 appearances against the north London side, the most he has suffered against a team in the Premier League.
Ndidi on his part has now lost six times in nine games in the competition against Tottenham.
The midfielder’s last victory against the rampaging Spurs was in December 2020 when the Foxes won 2-0 behind closed doors at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
For Ndidi, the loss was his 64th in 172 Premier League games while Iheanacho has now lost 73 times in 174 appearances in the competition.
