Lookman Gives Green Light to Galatasaray Move

Galatasaray’s pursuit of Nigerian star Ademola Lookman has gained momentum, with the forward reportedly giving a positive response to the club’s renewed interest, a move that could see him become the second most expensive signing in Süper Lig history after Victor Osimhen.
Following their record-breaking €75 million acquisition of Osimhen from Napoli, Galatasaray are now eyeing another Nigerian talent to bolster their squad ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Sabah, the Istanbul giants had initially shelved plans to sign Lookman due to Atalanta’s €60 million asking price. However, the player’s recent response has reignited negotiations.
Lookman is said to be open to the move and is now awaiting agreement between the two clubs. Galatasaray have reportedly set aside a €40 million budget for the transfer, which, if completed, would make Lookman the second highest transfer in Süper Lig history, trailing only Osimhen.
The 28-year-old winger has been a standout performer for Atalanta, registering 53 goals and 25 assists in 128 appearances. His current market value is estimated at €40 million, and he remains under contract with the Serie A side until 2027.
