Napoli 3-2 Bologna: Osimhen is the hero for Napoli

Spaletti's men edge five-goal thriller to make it 10 wins in a row, stay top of Serie A

Victor Osimhen was the hero Sunday evening for Napoli who managed to keep their place on top of the Serie A table thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win at home against Bologna.

The Nigerian, who returned to Serie A action after missing the last four games due to a biceps femoris muscle injury struck on 69 minutes to restore Napoli’s advantage after Musa Barrow evened the scores in the 51st minute.

It was Osimhen’s third goal in six Serie A games so far this season and his 27th in 57 appearances since he joined the club from French side, Lille in September 2020.

The goal is also his third in five games against Napoli to equal the most he has scored against a single club in Italy.

Osimhen is now just four goals shy of equalling the Nigeria goal record in the Serie A held Simy Nwankwo who netted 31 times in 101 games across four seasons.

The Napoli forward is now third in the Nigerian top scorers chart in the competition behind Nwankwo and former Inter Milan star, Obafemi Martins who scored 28 times in 92 games.

Napoli who managed to keep their place on top of the Serie A table thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win at home against Bologna.

Luciano Spalletti’s side found themselves a goal down in the first-half but, thanks to Victor Osimhen’s winner, they bounced back to secure all three points in front of their home crowd.

Victory made it ten wins in a row for Napoli as they continue their excellent form and title charge.
