Napoli want Gift Orban to replace Osimhen
Napoli are one of two Italian sides reportedly taking a look at Gent’s Nigerian sensation Gift Orban, according to Voetbalkrant and Italian media.
Orban has been in phenomenal form since he made his debut for Belgian Pro League side, KAA Gent in February, netting 12 goals in 10 games.
He scored four goals in his club’s 4-2 away win at Zulte Waregen in a league game and last week scored a quickfire hat-trick away to Istanbul Başakşehir in the Europa Conference League as Gent won 4-1 away from home.
With the likely departure of Victor Osimhen in the summer, Napoli have been linked to bring in the 20 year old Orban as his replacement with AC Milan also the linked with the little known Nigerian.
Gent are reportedly keen to hang on to the Orban and have seen his value rise rapidly since they brought him in from the Norwegian second tier.
The striker has his sights on playing in the Premier League but like Osimhen who had his first breakthrough playing in Belgium after his misdaventure to Wolfsburg in Germany, moving to Italy will be a big step and could end up becoming another Nigerian sensation in the Serie A like Osimhen has become.
