Ofili Tops List Of 2023 Bowerman Women’s Preseason Watch List

Nigeria’s 200m record holder indoors and outdoor, Favour Ofili tops list of 10 athletes placed on the 2023 Bowerman women’s pre-season watch list and released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The 20 year old was in phenomenal form last season. Apart from breaking her Nigeria 200m indoor record, she also set a new outdoor.

The Nigerian, a student of Louisiana State University in Louisiana, USA also became the first collegian to run sub-22 with a then-Collegiate record of 21.96 last year.

While she lost the record to eventual The Bowerman winner Abby Steiner, Ofili owns four of the top-9 collegiate performances all-time.

Indoors she rates No. 9 all-time collegiately at 22.46. She is also No. 10 all-time in the 100 among collegians with a best of 10.93. This is Ofili’s fifth career Watch List appearance.

Also on the 10-athlete watchlist is Ofili’s colleague at LSU, sprint hurdler Alia Armstrong as well as Jorinde van Klinken of Oregon and Britton Wilson of Arkansas.
