Rivers Hoopers coach, Ogoh Odaudu appointed head coach of Rwanda Energy Group basketball club

Ogoh Odaudu, the coach who led Rivers Hoopers to their first BAL Playoffs appearance and was voted coach of the tournament has been appointed as the head coach of Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club ahead of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) playoffs, which are set to begin on August 30.

The 42-year-old coach also led the Nigerians to a third-place finish in the 2024 season. He has also served as an assistant coach for the Nigerian national team, D’Tigers.

According to the New Times of Rwanda, the Nigerian is already in Rwanda, and he is expected to immediately lead club’s training sessions in preparations for the playoffs.

“Odaudu arrived today, and we will hold a meeting with the team to finalize his role in the upcoming playoff games,’ club president Joseph Ntwali told Times Sport.

‘In the upcoming RBL playoffs, REG will face APR, while the Patriots will go up against Kepler in the semi-finals of the best-of-five series,’ the newspaper reported.
