Thierry Henry Recommends Osimhen as Barcelona’s Next Number Nine

French football legend Thierry Henry has called on Barcelona to pursue Galatasaray’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, insisting the Catalan giants need a proven number nine to lead their attack.

Speaking to Sport, Henry said: ‘Barcelona needs a real number 9, a top striker. I’m talking about great goalscorers like Victor Osimhen, Erling Haaland or Harry Kane. Not promising players, but proven finishers.’

Osimhen has been in scintillating form this season, playing seven Champions League matches and contributing six goals and two assists.

His influence was clear in Galatasaray’s 5–2 victory over Juventus, where he directly impacted three of the goals.

The 27-year-old has also impressed in the Turkish Süper Lig, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 16 appearances.

His consistency has made him one of the most talked-about forwards in Europe.

Henry’s comments highlight Barcelona’s ongoing need for a clinical forward. With Osimhen’s record and reputation, the Nigerian could be the kind of signing to transform their attack.
