Victor Boniface makes Belgian Pro League Player Of The Season Shortlist

Nigeria and Union St Gilloise striker, Victor Boniface tops as the Belgian Pro League reveals the top three contenders for player of the season for the
2022/2023 campaign.

Boniface and another Union St Gilloise player, captain Teddy Teuma and KRC Genk’s Mike Tresor make the top three.

The 22 year old Boniface joined Union last summer from Norway and it looks like his stay in Belgium will be short. Most of his goalscoring has come in the
Europa League, but in the Pro League his technical and physical play has clearly impressed the rest of the league.

He scored nine league goals and provided eight assists in 36 games.

Conspicuosly missing from the list is Gift Orban, the 20 year old Nigerian forward who netted 20 goals in 21 games for Gent despite joining in the winter
transfer window from Norwegian second division side, Stabæk.

More than half of his 20 goals (15) came in the Belgian Pro League viz nine in 10 games in the regularseason and six in five Jupiler Pro League Europe Play-Offs.
