‘We’re going for maximum points’: Chidera eyes victory as Enyimba storms Lagos

Enyimba’s rising star, Chidera Michael Abraham, has boldly declared the People’s Elephant are in Lagos with one mission: three points.

As the NPFL Matchday 6 showdown against Ikorodu City looms, the Onitsha-born striker is brimming with belief ahead of Sunday’s clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

With two goals in just three substitute appearances, Chidera has quickly become a fan favorite. But for the 24-year-old, it’s all about the team.

‘The camp is buzzing. Everyone’s happy with our form. Against Ikorodu City, we’re going for maximum points. We want to take the win back to Aba,’ he told Enyimba Media.

Whether starting or coming off the bench, Chidera remains focused on the collective goal.

‘It’s the coaches’ call. But whoever plays, fans should expect fireworks and a solid result,’ he said.

Reflecting on his early impact, the forward credited God, the coaching staff, and his teammates.

‘Enyimba is the best club in Nigeria and one of Africa’s finest. I’m here to win trophies and help bring back the glory days.’

Since 2024, the two sides have met twice, a win for Enyimba in Aba and a draw in Lagos. With the People’s Elephant unbeaten and Lagos fans eager for a spectacle, all eyes will be on Chidera, the new kid with big dreams, as Enyimba looks to roar in the nation’s commercial capital.
