2022/23 Season: Osimhen leads in race for top scoring Nigerian in Europe

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen is five points clear in the lead for who will end the 2022/23 football season as the top scoring Nigerian in Europe’s 10 big league.

The 24 year old has scored 25 times in 29 games across all competitions, five clear of second placed Union St Gilloise of Belgium striker, Victor Boniface.

21 of the goals scored by Osimhen have come in the Serie A where he is the top scorer while the remainig four are from five UEFA Champions League games.

Boniface was on target for his Belgium club on Thursday in the Europa League to bring his total goals tally to 20 in 46 games with seven of the goals scored in 29 Belgian Pro League matches with six netted in nine Europa League games.

Five came in four UEFA Champions League qualifying games with the remaining scored in four Belgian Cup (Beker van Belgie) matches.

Terem Moffi of French Ligue 1 side, OG Nice is just a goal shy of Boniface on 19 goals from 29 games. 16 of the goals have come in 26 Ligue 1 games with the remaining three scored in three UEFA Europa Conference League matches.

Little known Gift Orban has netted 14 times in 12 games despite joining his Belgian side, KRC Gent in the January transfer window.
The 20 year old netted nine of his goals in eight Belgian Pro League games with the remaining five in five UEFA Europa Conference League games.
