2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket: Kunaiyi-Akpanah confident of another title win as D’Tigers extend winning streak in Africa to 23-0

D’Tigers center Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah believes the D’Tigers are heading for a fourth FIBA Women’s AfroBasket title win
after the Nigerians extended their winning streak in Africa to 23-0.

D’Tigers mauled hosts, Rwanda 79-48 to qualify for their fourth straight Women’s AfroBasket Final and Kunaiyi-Akpanah says
the team coached by Rena Wakama are as good as the team that ruled Africa in style two years ago.

D’Tigers have gone through a revamping, with only four players from the previous edition remaining with question mark on
their ability to reach the Championship Game.

‘I feel relieved honored. The team that won two years ago was a phenomenal team. But I think this team as well can fill
those shoes. Under the leadership of coach Rena, we are in a good spot to repeat that win.’ said Kunaiyi-Akpanah.

D’Tigers showed near-perfection in every aspect of the game against Rwanda to reach their fourth final in a row.

The Nigerians will now meet Senegal win the final. The Senegal women defeat Mali 80-77 in their semifinal clash also on Thursday.
