2024 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers: Edo Queens to face Benin Republic side, Ainonvi in final

Betsy Obaseki ladies, Edo Queens are through to the final of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers after defeating FC Inter d’Abidjan 2-1 in the semifinal game played at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.
The Edo state girls scored on 7 (Essien) and 34 minutes (Ilivieda) while the host reduced the tally on 46 minutes through Niamien.
Edo Queens will now play Reublic of Benin champions, Ainonvi FC who defeated their Burkinable counterparts, Burkina Faso AO Etincelle in the first semifinal played at the same venue.
The final will hold at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, the second-largest city in Ivory Coast.
Victory for the Edo girls will see them join seven others made up of the winning team each from the 6 CAF sub-confederations, the tournament’s defending champions, and the host nation’s league-winning team. These 8 teams would proceed to the main tournament phases which had not been chosen yet.
Edo Queens qualified to compete in the tournament in Ivory Coast as the Nigerian champion after winning the mini tournament in Bayelsa state.
