2026 FIFA World Cup Race: South Africa to host Nigeria in Bloemfontein on Sept 9
The Super Eagles will resume their quest for a 2026 FIFA World Cup ticket in September, starting with a crucial home fixture against Rwanda’s Amavubi on Saturday, September 6, before traveling to Bloemfontein, South Africa, to face Bafana Bafana on Tuesday, September 9.
The match will take place at the Toyota Stadium, formerly known as Vodacom Park, with kickoff scheduled for 4pm GMT (5pm Nigeria time / 6pm South Africa time).
With a seating capacity of 46,000, the historic stadium is expected to host one of the most decisive encounters in CAF Group C.
This Matchday 8 clash is set to be pivotal in determining which nation secures the lone African ticket from the group to the World Cup finals in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
