4th MoC Grand Prix: MoC unveils prize money structure for bronze and standard events
Making of Champions, the organizer of the fourth MoC Grand Prix scheduled to hold between May 31 and June 1, 2024 has unveiled the prize money structure for the event.
Over N1m will be on offer as prize money to be distributed among 28 track and field events.
There are six bronze events and 22 standard events with only the former having the first three finishers rewarded with 1st: N50K, 2nd: N30K and 3rd: N20K while for the standard events, it will be a N20k winner takes all reward.
The six bronze events are the men and women’s 100m, 200m and 400m while the 22 standard events are the men and women’s 100/110mH, 400mH, 800m, 1500m, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Hammer, Javelin and Shot Put.
The fourth edition of the event will hold at the Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech, Sports Complex in Lagos and it is the first time the competition will join the World Athletics Continental Tour as a ‘Challenger’ Event.
It is set to be one of the major Olympic qualifying events in Nigeria after the African Games Trials in Asaba in February with Nigeria’s Olympic Trials fast approaching later in June after the African Championships in Cameroon.
