Napoli coach: Osimhen will start against Milan on Tuesday

Napoli gaffer, Luciano Spalletti says Victor Osimhen will start against AC Milan in the return leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie next Tuesday in Naples.

Osimhen failed to recover from the muscle injury he copped during the international break which stopped him from featuring in the two games against Milan viz the 4-0 loss in the Serie A and 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League.

The Nigerian returned to action on Saturday against Verona in the Serie A as a substitute and the crossbar denied the 24 year old the chance to give Napoli all three points as well as increase his goal haul to 22 in 24 Serie A games.

‘He’ll start, yes. Osimhen has this physicality and speed, you can throw the ball up to him and he can protect it, use his head or use a change of pace, he
has so many different alternatives. He is a hero of these fans now, so there is always a wave of enthusiasm around him.

“These are players made of different stuff, they have so many solutions. They fill the box of delights with all their various characteristics,’ said Spaletti of the Nigerian.

Osimhen has scored four times in five Champions League games for Napoli this season and the Nigerian will be seeking to score his first goal in three games across all competitions against AC Milan.
