Boniface scores as Union St.Gilloise revive hopes of first title win since 1935!

Victor Boniface scored his eighth Belgian Jupiler Pro League goal of the season to help his club, Union St.Gilloise to a 2-0 win at Club Brugge to keep their title challenge alive.
Union St.Gilloise lost 2-0 at home to Royal Antwerp three days ago in their first gaem of the playoff and needed to bounce with a win on Saturday to keep alive their hopes of winning their first Belgian top division title since 1935.
Boniface opened the scoring for the visitors on 41 minutes at the Jan Breydel Stadion in Brugge. Jean Thierry Lazare Amani doubled the advantege in the 46th minute before the host, with another Raphael Onyedika, playing in the midfield pulled one back in second half added time through Hans Vanaken.
It was however too late for them to complete a comeback as Boniface and company secured their first win of the playoffs to move joint top with Genk on 41 points.
Genk can however move three points clear at the top if they win at Royal Antwerp on Sunday.If Antwerp win, they will move into first place ahead of Genk and Union St.Gilloise with 42 points.
The top two will automatically qualify for the qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League.
