Bayern Munich chief Oliver Kahn: Osimhen too expensive at €150m

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn says the Bavarian club are not prepared to pay €150m (£130.28m) for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.

Napoli have placed the staggering amount on the Nigerian whose goals have helped them to win their first Scudetto in 33 years.

The 24 year old is also in the running for the Serie A top scorer award leads the chart with his 24 goals in 28 games, four more than second placed Inter Milan forward, Lautaro Martinez with just four games left.

Osimhen became the top scoring African in the history of the competition and will be seeking to become the third Napoli player to emerge top scorer in a single Serie A season and the first to emerge such and Scudetto winner.

Kahn says Bayern Munich will likely not make any bid for Osimhen.

“When it’s about such a fee, we have to ask the question: does the player give you a guarantee for this money? That would definitely be a big risk,’ Kahn told Germany sports newspaper, Bild.

Napoli however look to have made a u-turn and are not selling the Nigerian again.

Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli says club president Aurelio de Laurentiis is already speaking directly to Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda regarding a renewal at the Partenopei.

The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the Nigerian, who was also linked with a swap deal involving Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.
