Gazzetta dello Sport: Newcastle ‘make contact with Osimhen agent’
Italy’s most authoritative newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport says Premier League side, Newcastle United have met with representatives of Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen as the club make plans for their first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
Osimhen is one of the most in-demand forwards in Europe this term after scoring 25 goals in 31 Serie A appearances to top the top scorer chart for the about to end season.
Newcastle are desperate to make an impact in the UEFA Champions League and know a proven goalscorer will be needed for that to happen hence the focus on Osimhen.
The Nigeria international is also wanted by Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United view the 24 year old Nigerian as an alternative option to Harry Kane, while Chelsea are also monitoring any developments in the event that they can finance a deal.
Osimhen joined Napoli in September 2020 from Ligue 1 side, Lille and has scored 58 times in 100 appearances since his switch.
