Emmanuel Bamidele set for Diamond League return at BAUHAUS-galan in Stockholm

NCAA outdoor track and field 400m champion, Bamidele Emmnauel is staging a return to Diamond League action four years after
he last competed in the money-spinning event.

The Nigerian, 23, ran a new 44.24 lifetime best to win the 400m title at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field
Championships at the Mike Myers stadium in Austin, Texas early this month. It is the fourth fastest in the world so far
this season.

The two time NCAA outdoor champion is looking to return to the international stage in Stockholm after he was confirmed by
the organisers for the seventh leg of the Diamond League series.

Bamidele made his Diamond League debut four years ago in Doha and the Nigerian has not ran in the competition since then.

He moved on track scholrship to the USA in 2022 and made it to the final of the NCAA outdoor championships that year but
failed to start in the final.

He however made a golden return this year and helped University of Florida to the overall men’s title after striking gold
in the individual 400m and was also part of the 4x400m relay team that ran 2:57.74 world lead to win the gold.

Nigerians will be watching with keen interest if the 23 year old will compete for Nigeria at World Athletics Championships
in Budapest, Hungary in August.
