Osimhen could go six goals behind in Serie A top scorer’s race

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen will not be in action this weekend when his club, SSS Napoli travel Salernitana on Saturday and could go six goals behind Inter
Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez in the race for the top scorer for the 2023/24 season.
Osimhen has not featured in Napoli’s last two Serie A games due to a harmstring injury and the 24 year old is set to miss a couple more games thereby
reducing his chances of retaining his crown as the top scorer in the league.
The Nigerian was phenomenal for Napoli last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 Serie A games to emerge the first African to emerge as top scorer in the Italian
topflight.
Osimhen is five goals behind Martinez who has netted 11 times for Inter Milan so far this season. The Argentine was five goals adrift of the Nigerian last
season, scoring 21 times for the Nerazzurrinni.
Osimhen has scored 65 times in 111 games for Napoli across all competitions with 56 of the goals in 91 Serie A games, including the one he scored in three
appearances against Salernitana.
