Osimhen gets third career red card on day he extended Napoli deal till 2026

Victor Osimhen was red carded Saturday evening in his club, Napoli’s 2-0 loss at AS Roma on a day he extended his stay at the club for one more year.

The Nigerain, 24, was given the marching order on 86 minutes after he was yellow carded for the second time in the game. He was earlier booked in the 73rd
meeting of the loss at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

He got his two yellow cards over his attempts to chase down opponents and win back the ball. It was his third red card of his club career all in Napoli shirt.

The former Lille of France forward received his first red card in a Europa League group F game away at Spanish side, Real Sociedad. He got the first yellow
card for dissent on 81 minutes and got his second in added time in the game Napoli wion 1-0 at the Reale Arena.

Osimhen received his second red card, this time a direct red card, in the first Serie A game of the 2021/22 season.He got the card in the 23rd minute of the
game for violent conduct as Napoli defeated Venezia 2-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The Super Eagle got his third Napoli and career red card on Saturday evening in Rome.

Meanwhile, Osimhen had earlier in the day extended his stay in Naples by a further one year and will now be at the club until the summer of 2026.
