Super Eagles Land In Garoua, Ready For AFCON
The Super Eagles of Nigeria landed late Wednesday night in Garoua to begin their bid for their fourth Africa Cup of Nations win.
The team, led by interim manager Austin Eguavoen and team captain Ahmed Musa left the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport in Abuja around 10pm and arrived at the Garoua international airport some 45 minutes the later.
A total of 25 players made the trip following the arrival Wednesday morning of Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo and Villarreal of Spain winger Samuel Chukwueze.
The three players yet to report are Jamilu Collins, Odion Ighalo and Tyronne Ebuehi who will be in action for his Italian Serie A club, Venezia in the matchday 20 league game at Simy Nwankwo’s Salernitana.
The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON campaign against Mohammed Salah’s Egypt on Tuesday before playing Sudan on January 15 and Guinea-Bissau four days later.
