Ndidi reveals why Eagles trust Finidi to deliver as Super Eagles coach

Leicester star hails NFF on former Nigeria winger's appointment, says focus on 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Leicester City midfielder midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, says he and his colleagues are comfortable with the appointment of Finidi George as their new coach and has commended the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for appointing the Bayelsa state born coach.

“Finidi is an amazing coach, we worked with him in our two friendly games in Morocco and he impressed us with the way he executed the two games against Ghana and Mali without any assistant coaches, just him and his other officials.

“It is not easy for one man to do all that. We are good to go with him, he is humble and amazing. I think I will say congratulations and see what happens in the future”, Ndidi was quoted as saying in Abuja by Complete Sports.

Finidi George was unveiled as the new coach of the senior national team at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Monday, with key decision makers in the nation’s football fraternity present.

Ndidi further told Complete Sports he and his colleagues are focused on the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.

“We know how important those two games are to us and we won’t allow it to slip away. It will be tough games, not easy ones, but we shall see to it that we do not slip again”.
