Noah Lyles, Tebogo set to face off over 200m in Monaco for the first time since 2023 World Championships final

World champion and five-time Diamond Trophy winner Noah Lyles of the USA will race against Lestile Tebogo of Botswana on July 12 at the Herculis EBS, the ninth Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season in Monaco.

It will be the first since both clashed in the 200m final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary last August.

Lyles won in 19.52 with Tebogo third in 19.81 but many athletics watchers left the Championships feeling the Botswana athlete will be the American’s biggest challenger at the Paris Olympics.

Tebogo seemed to have fulfilled the prophecy when he ran 19.94 and 19.71 into a head wind in March and April respectively but Lyles sent an ominous message at the USA Lyles, running a 19.53 world lead to win.

Both will be making their Diamond League debut this season and will both be hoping for a winning start.

They have met just twice over the distance with Lyles winning on both occasions.
