2024 ValueJet Cup Winner To Get N5m As Eight Teams Set For Tournament In Ikenne

Otunba Tade Azeez, chairman of the ValueJet Cup, a pre-season tournament for invited clubs has confirmed the prize monies for this year’s edition which will kick off on July 24, 2024 at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State with eight top-flight clubs from Nigeria and Sudan participating.

Otunba Azeez has not only announced a significant increase in the prize monies for the tournament which will end on July 31, 2024, he also revealed how the tournament has been of immense benefit to Nigerian teams.

‘Our objective is to create a top-level tournament for clubs preparing for their CAF games and League season. We are also injecting funds into the tournament and we have sustained the policy of increasing prize monies every season. The poll for this year’s prize monies is up to N16 Million, about a 300% increment in the prize and participation monies.

‘We want to appreciate our Premium and title sponsor, ValueJet Airline for supporting our vision and objective. We have recorded a lot of positive post-tournament stories from the clubs and players,’ said Azeez.

The winner of this year’s tournament will cart home N5 Million, three more than what last season’s winner got.

The runners-up prize money has also been increased from N1.5 Million to N2.5 Million.

There will be a 100% increment in the participation fees for the clubs.
