Rangers mourn the passing of Senator Ubah, Chief Iwuanyanwu

The entire players, coaches, staff, and management of reigning Nigeria league champions, Rangers International F.C ably led by Barrister Amobi Ezeaku have expressed big shock and sorrow on the sad passing onto glory of the senator representing Anambra South zone and proprietor of defunct F.C Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah as well as a business mogul and owner of Iwuanyanwu Nationale F.C of Owerri, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

The two Igbo prominent sons were lost to the cold hands of death within a space of 48 hours with late chief Iwuanyanwu passing away on Thursday, July 25, with Senator Ubah bidding farewell in the early hours of Saturday, July 27, 2024, according to sources.

Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah who acquired Gabros International F.C of Nnewi, renaming it F.C Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi, passed away at 52.

Late chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who was the proprietor of Iwuanyanwu Nationale F.C which metamorphosed into Heartland F.C died at the age of 82 as the president general of Pan-Igbo organization, Oha-na-Eze Ndi-Igbo.

Barrister Ezeaku described the death of both men as a colossal loss not only to the Igbo race but to the entire nation as they left big shoes that will be too large to fill in the nearest possible time, especially with their expertise in football administration.

‘We are deeply touched and pained by the big losses of the great sportsmen and strong pillars in Nigeria politics. Their dedication and huge investment in the game of football will remain indelible in our memories,’ said Ezeaku.

The young club boss prayed that God Almighty grant the immediate families the fortitude to bear the big loss and grant their departed souls eternal rest while charging the football authorities to find a way to immortalize the great men.
