Supercomputer predicts 100th EPL win for Saka, 102nd for Iwobi and 78th defeat for Ndidi
Opta’s supercomputer has predicted a win for Arsenal when the Gunners visit the Villa Park on Saturday evening in their match week 2 clash against their host, Aston Villa and if it comes to pass, it will be Bukayo Saka’s 100th win in 172 Premier League games since he made his debut in the 2019/20 season.
Arsenal lost twice to Unai Emery’s side in the competition last season but the Supercomputer says Mikel Arteta, seeking his second win in six games against Emery, will lead the Gunners to victory to continue their perfect start to the season.
‘Despite Villa’s strong track record under Unai Emery, it is Arsenal who are well backed by our model at 51.1%, the second highest mark given to any away team this weekend. Villa’s chance of a home win is just 24.7% and therefore a draw may be a good outcome for the hosts which helps to continue their momentum. That is given a 24.2% chance,’ says the Supercomputer.
Saka has scored twice and provided an assist in the 10 games he has played against Aston Villa in the Premier League where he has won five times and lost five times.
The 22 year old scored and provided an assist in his opening Premier League game of the season and could be just the fourth player to win 100 in the competition before turning 23 after Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fàbregas and Phil Foden.
Meanwhile, the Supercomputer has also predicted a win for Fulham who hosts Leicester City at Craven Cottage, also on Saturday.
Iwobi plays for Fulham and has won four of his last 11 Premier League games against the Foxes, scoring just once and has provided two assists.
A win for Fulham, as projected by the Supercomputer will mean Iwobi’s fifth in 12 games against the returnee Premier League team and 102nd since he won his first game in the competition on his debut in October 2015.
It will however be Wilfred Ndidi’s 78th loss in the competition in 193 appearances in the competition. The 27 year old plays for Leicester City and was in action when they drew with Tottenham Hotspur in their opening game of the season at the King Power stadium last Monday.
Ndidi has won 77 times in the competition and if the Supercomputer projections come true, the Nigerian will lose his 78th game in the Premier League.
