Iheanacho, Ejuke subbed on for LaLiga debut, Boniface fires blank

Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke were second half substitutes but could not rescue Sevilla who fell to a late Ayoze Pérez goal to lose 2-1 to visiting Villarreal at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Friday night.
Ejuke was the first to be subbed on forJuanlu Sánchez on 71 minutes before was called upon for his LaLiga debut six minutes later for Isaac Romero.
The two Nigerians could not replicate what Chrisantus Uche did for Getafe last week when he scored to rescue a point for his club away at the San Mames where he cancelled out Oihan Sancet’s 27th minute opener for Athletic Bilbao in the 64th minute.
The result will definitely put pressure on the Nigerian duo to deliver, especially on Tuesday when they travel to theEstadi Mallorca Son Moix to face Mallorca, who drew 1-1 with Real Madrid last week.
In Germany, Victor Boniface was in action for 82 minutes as his club, Bayer Leverkusen scored in added time through Florian Wirtz to defeat their host, Borussia Monchengladbach 3-2 at Borussia-Park.
Boniface’s Nigerian compatriot at the club, Nathan Tella was an unused substitute.
In France, precisely at the Parc des Princes, Akor Adams was subbed on for Wahbi Khazri on 68 minutes but could not stop his club from getting mauled 6-0 by Paris Saint-Germain.
