Iwobi: We must replicate our club form for Eagles to qualify for 2026 World Cup, 2025 AFCON

Alex Iwobi says Super Eagles players must replicate the way they play for their clubs in Europe when they come for national team assignment.

The Fulham star believes if this is done, the Super Eagles will not only qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite their precarious position as well as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Iwobi says they must secure the points needed to fly them to both competitions.

“Of course, the same way fans and everyone demands from us, we the players, we demand from ourselves as well because we know the quality we have, and we know how we do well for our club sides. We just have to bring the form to Nigeria,’ said Iwobi who is confident the Eagles can stick nick the World Cup ticket.

“Of course, there is still a lot to fight for. We have a lot to prove,” Iwobi in a video posted on the Super Eagles’ X handle.

“I always say we have a lot of quality in the team but hopefully we can kick on and get the points we need to qualify because it is something that we all want to achieve as a nation, we have the players to do so, we just need to believe and make things happen”.
