Enyimba FC bid Ojo, Mbaoma, 11 others farewell

CAF Confederation Cup campaigners, Enyimba Football Club of Aba have announced the departure of 13 players from the team.

The departed players, led by goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo who left at the end of June to join Sudanese side, Al-Merrikh SC, include centre back, Desmond Ojietefian who has signed for Shooting Stars of Ibadan, left back Chigozie Chilekwu who has joined Tanzanian side, Tabora United and attacking midfielder, Ngomere Chisom who joined the club in October 2023.

Others are centre forward Anthony Okachi who has left as a free agent, defensive midifelders Chibuike Nwaiwu and James Orasonye and centre forward, Mbaoma Chijioke.

Also out are defensive midfielder Ikenna Cooper who joined the Peoples Elephant in 2022, right winger, George Owen who joined last year, right back MacBen Otika who has joined reigning NPFL champions, Rangers of Enugu, centre forward, Uche Collins and Tochukwu Emmanuel.

Enyimba FC have also expressed deep gratitude to the players for ‘their dedication and contributions to the club.’

The club says the departed 13 played a vital role in their journey, ‘and they will always be remembered as valued members of the Enyimba family.’

Meanwhile, Enyimba have also been active in the transfer market and just last week signed the goalkeeping duo of Asibe Nathaniel and Abubakar Zalli in addition to a few more acquisitions.
