Saka equals Henry’s feat, becomes second Gunner to assist in opening three EPL games

Bukayo Saka has become the second Arsenal player after Thierry Henry to provide an assist in each of his first three Premier League games.

The Nigeria-born England international flicked-on a David Raya’s long ball for Kai Havertz who made the run in behind to clip a lovely finish into an unguarded Brighton net.

Prior to his assist for Havertz to score Arsenal’s opening goal in the game against Brighton, the 22-year-old has been involved in 17 goals in his last 19 Premier League appearances (12 goals, 5 assists), assisting in each of the first two games in 2024/25.

The only Arsenal player prior to the game against Brighton to assist a goal in the first three games of a Premier League season was Thierry Henry in 2004/05.

Saka scored and assisted Havertz in the Gunners’ opening game of the season win against Wolves and was on hand to give Leandro Trossard the assist to score Arsenal’s first goal in the 2-0 win at Aston Vila last week.
