Saka: ‘I am sure Sterling will do amazing things for us’
Bukayo Saka has hailed Arsenal’s deadline day loan deal for Raheem Sterling and believes the 29 year old will greatly help the Gunners.
Sterling joined from west London side and Saka, who bagged his third assist of the season in three games, says he is really delighted to have the man who has scored 123 Premier League goals at the Emirates.
‘Great signing for us, I am really happy to have him here. I am sure he will do amazing for us,’ said Saka after helping Arsenal to a 1-1 draw against Brighton in north London.
On the game against Brighton, Saka said the Gunners had enough chances to win the game despite the red card to Declan Rice.
‘We can take it both ways, we had the chances to win the game but going down to 10 men against Brighton is difficult,’ he said in a post match interview.
On Declan Rice sending off, he said: “I thought it was a bit harsh for us. We just want some consistency. Joao Pedro booted the ball halfway across the pitch in the first half and got nothing for it and Dec got the slightest touch and was sent off.
“It is what it is, I don’t want to put the whole game on the referee as we still had chances to win it.
“It has been a good start. Today is a disappointment but it is a long season.”
The red card was Rice’s first in 245 Premier League appearances.
