‘Goalkeeper Ntwari gave us a chance to stay in the game,’ Spittler praises his players after Nigeria draw
Rwanda head coach Frank Spittler has hailed goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari for his many saves that gave the Amavubi a crucial point against the Super Eagles of Nigerian in a 2025 African Nations Cup qualifier on Tuesday at the Amahoro stadium in Kigali.
‘Ntwari was incredible today. His saves were crucial, and he gave us a chance to stay in the game,’ he said.
Spittler also hailed the entire team for standing up to the star-studded Nigerians.
‘I’m happy with the result. The boys gave everything on the pitch, and we showed resilience throughout the game,’ he said at the post-match press conference and noted thathis men held their ground against one of Africa’s football powerhouse.
The German is however concerned about lack of quality strikers in the team.
‘We lack a top-level striker with Rwandan roots who can come in and make a real difference. That’s something we need to address moving forward.’
