Osimhen tops list of Most Valuable Players not playing in UEFA Champions League

Victor Osimhen tops the list of the most valuable players in the world not playing in this season’s UEFA Champions League which started Tuesday with the group stage matches.

The Nigerian, now playing his football in the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray, is valued at 100m euros which makes him the most valuable player not in the lucrative and number one clubs competition in the world.

Osimhen is however the only Nigerian in the top 15 list as the next two ranked Nigerians, Victor Boniface and Ademola Lookman are in the competition and will start their campaign on Thursday.

While Boniface will be making his debut, Lookman is returning after five years when he featured for RB Leipzig against Zenit St. Petersburg (October 2019).

Following Osimhen in the top 10 list of most valuable players out of the competition are Bruno Guimares of Newcastle United who is valued at 85 million euros, Cole Palmer of Chelsea – 80 million euros, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli) – 80 million euros, Moises Caicedo (Chelsea) – 75 million euros and Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea) – 75 million euros.

Others are Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) – 75 million euros, Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao) – 70 million euros, James Maddison (Tottenham) – 70 million euros, Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) – 70 million euros, Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United) – 65 million euros, Lucas Paqueta (West Ham) – 65 million euros, Cristian Romero (Tottenham) – 65 million euros, Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) – 65 million euros and Matthijs de Ligt (Manchester United) – 60 million euros.
