Sevilla coach, Pimienta insists: ‘We will see the best version of Kelechi very soon’

Sevilla of Spain head coach, Xavi García Pimienta has, for the umpteenth time, defended misfiring Nigeria forward, Kelechi Iheanacho after the 27-year-old has failed to score in 213 minutes of LaLiga football since he joined as a free agent at the end of July.
Iheanacho may deputize for the injured Isaac Romero against Atletico Bilbao on Sunday at the San Mames and Pimienta is confident the Nigerian will start delivering sooner, rather than later.
“He (Iheanacho) came practically a month later (in pre-season) and the team was already flying, more stabilized. He went away for two weeks (international break) and did not participate.
‘The other day we saw things in which he was not right, but he put a lot of effort into it and aborted other things. He is a top player, and I am convinced that sooner rather than later we will see the best version of Kelechi. He has the capacity for it,’ said Pimienta at Friday’s pre-match conference.
