Arsenal Vs PSG: Saka, Trossard set for new milestones in UEFA Champions League

Arsenal duo of Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard will be hoping to achieve new milestones when the Gunners take to the pitch at the Emirates stadium Tuesday night to stake their 14-game unbeaten run on the line against PSG in their second group phase game of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.

While Arsenal will be looking to start a Champions League campaign with back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since 2007/08, Saka will be keen to extend his record as the first Gunner

PSG have lost six of their last nine Champions League games against English opposition, including each of their last three. Their 4-1 defeat at Newcastle United last term was their heaviest away defeat to an English opponent.

Only three players have played for both us and Paris SG in the Champions League, with Arteta being one of those along with Nicolas Anelka and Lassana Diarra.

The last PSG player to score in the Champions League was Kylian Mbappe on April 16, with the French side attempting 71 shots without scoring in the competition since then. Indeed, they’ve only landed 14 of those 71 shots on target, but have hit the woodwork on four occasions.

Bukayo Saka has been that will be directly involved in eight goals in six Champions League appearances at Emirates Stadium if he scores or assists.

The 23 year old has scored four goals and bagged three assists in five games so far and it is the most combined goals and assists by an Arsenal player through his first five home matches in the competition.

Trossard has scored in all four of his home appearances for Arsenal in the Champions League last season and could become the second in competition history to do so in each of his first five home matches for a specific club after Roy Makaay for Bayern Munich (September 2004).
