Onyedika moves up as second most valuable player in Belgium, Arokodare is 30th

Voted Club Brugge’s player of the month for September, Raphael Onyedika has moved up as the second most valuable player in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League following Tansfermarkt’s update on Wednesday of 161 players in Belgium’s top division.

The Nigerian is the biggest winner of the market value update and has been hailed as a real number 6 by transfermarkt area manager, Bart Tamsyn.

‘Onyedika has developed from a no.6 to a real playmaker. Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin made a big point of targeting Onyedika in their Champions League game, and despite this, he was unstoppable. While former coach Ronny Deila sometimes overlooked him a bit, current coach Nicky Hayen has allowed him to unleash his full potential.

‘Brugge even turned down a €20m offer from Galatasaray last summer, and he is now a regular member of Nigeria’s national team,’ said Tamsyn.

The Nigerian’s valuation has moved from €10m in June to €16m at the start of October and this has made him the ninth most valuable Nigerian player and 59th among all players playing as defensive midfielders.

Forward, Tolu Arokodare also moved up in valuation.

The 23-year-old who has scored six goals in nine appearances so far this season, has moved from €5.50m to €6.50m and is now ranked number 1,623 among all players worldwide, number 30 among all players of the Jupiler Pro League, number 6 among all players at KRC Genk and number 22 among all players from Nigeria.
