Incredible Cole Palmer tipped to win second Premier League Player of the month award

Chelsea forward Cole Palmer is the overwhelming favourite to win his player of the month award after he was named among eight Premier League players who have been nominated for the September award.

The 22-year-old who joined Chelsea September 2023 from Manchester City was undoubtedly the best player in the Premier League last month after scoring five times and having six goal involvements which were both the most of all Premier League players.

After an assist in a draw with Crystal Palace, he scored in a 3-0 win at West Ham before making history in a 4-2 victory over Brighton, becoming the first player ever to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League match.

Palmer won his first award in April this year after scoring seven goals in four matches . He was also the first Chelsea player to win the award since Eden Hazard in 2018.

The Chelsea player will be challenged by seven other players including Harvey Barnes of Newcastle who scored in three of his four September appearances, Liverpool’s Luis Diaz who scored four goals in four games and Arsenal centre-back Gabriel who scored the winner in the north London derby at Spurs before another headed goal in a 2-2 draw at Manchester City.

Others are Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch who played every minute of Liverpool’s matches as they stormed to the top of the table, Raul Jimenez of Fulham who scored in all three of his September matches, Everton’s Dwight McNeil who was directly involved in four of Everton’s five goals in the month and Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa who scored or assisted in each of Villa’s three matches.
