Nwaekeme injured, out of Trabzonspor game at Hatayspor

Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor have revealed that former Super Eagles forward, Anthony Nwakaeme was injured in training and a muscle injury was detected in his upper left anterior muscle after a MRI scan.

Trabzonpor Club Chairman of the Health Board Association, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Beşir issued a statement about the health status of the Nigerian on Friday.

‘As a result of the examination and MRI imaging of our player Anthony Nwakaeme, who felt pain during the training of our Football A Team, a muscle injury was detected in his upper left anterior muscle (Quadriceps).

‘The treatment of our player has been started by our medical team,’ Beşir said in the statement on the club’s media pages.

The Nigerian will meet Trabzonspor’s visit to Hatayspor in a Turkish Super Lig match week eight game at the Yeni Hatay Stadyumu inAntakya, Turkey

Nwakaeme, 35, has featured eight times for Trabzonspor this season, four in the Super Lig where he has bagged an assist and four in Europa League qualifiers.

Overall, he has 153 times for the club and scored 47 goals.
