AS Roma eyeing January move for Ola Aina

Serie A side AS Roma are eyeing a move in January for Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

I Giallorossi, according to Italy’s most authoritative sports newspaper, AS Roma sees Aina as one who would make instant impact largely because he played in Serie A for four seasons with Torino who he featured 113 times for with 102 of them in the Serie A and also because he knows Ivan Juric’s setup quite well. Juric was Torino coach between 2021 and June 2024.

Aina’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and his current valuation is at around €12 million, which could decrease further by the January transfer window.

AS Roma will find it difficult to get Aina to return to the Serie A after Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo expressed his desire to see the Nigerian remain in the club.

Santo is pushing for a new contract for the former Chelsea player.

‘Ola Aina has been exceptional since joining us, we’re eager to secure his future with the club.’ he said in his pre-match press briefing ahead of last weekend’s round of Premier League matches.
