‘Ahmed Musa deserves a place in Super Eagles team,’ says Abdullah, Kano Pillars head coach

Kano Pillars head coach, Usman Abdullah believes Ahmed Musa deserves a place in the Super Eagles team if current form and merit are used in the selection of players.

Musa returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League with Kano Pillars this season and the player, who was 32 on October 14, has been one of the best players in the competition so far.

He has scored three goals in the three appearances he has made thus far and provided an assist.
The former Leicester City of England winger was instrumental to Kano Pillars 4-3 defeat of Rangers international of Enugu at the weekend, scoring a beautifully solo goal to make it 4-0 for the visitors in first half added time.

Coach Abdullah is convinced Musa has shown he still has what it takes to deliver at the top level.

‘Musa has been in great form. He should be one of the home based players in the Super Eagles team. He is playing at home now and qualifies to be called a home based player. Forget age, if performance and merit are used in selection, I think he deserves to be in the team,’ Abdullah told 54footballx.

The Kano Pillars gaffer is also rooting for Rabiu Ali, his captain.

‘Rabiu Ali should be captaining the CHAN team. He should even be in the Super Eagles because he’s doing very well,’ he said.
