Sevilla coach, Pimienta: Ejuke’s injury is quite serious, no decision yet on surgery
Sevilla of Spain head coach, García Pimienta says no decision has been made yet on whether Chidera Ejuke should undergo a surgery for the hamstring injury he suffered in the 5-1 defeat at Barcelona last week and called the injury, ‘quite serious’.
Ejuke was helped out of the pitch by Sevilla medical team after he fell and held his thigh just before the end of the first half of the game.
The Nigerian has sought two medical advice and a decision on the next line of action is imminent and Pimienta says Ejuke’s loss is massive.
‘No decision has yet been made regarding whether Ejuke will undergo surgery or not. It’s a very serious injury. He is with a smile on his face but aware of the gravity. Looking forward to the final decision and the recovery to begin,” said Pimienta at his pre-match conference ahead of Friday’s LaLiga match week 11 fixture at Espanyol.
Pimienta revealed that the club may look to get new players in January because of the injury.
‘Honestly, until Ejuke’s absence we hadn’t thought much about the winter market. I know that the club is moving for additions or departures. I know that the club is ready,” he said.
