Patrice Evra blasts Arsenal for letting Galatasaray sign Osimhen

Former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra has blasted Arsenal for not signing a striker because a club in the Turkish Super Lig, Galatasaray could afford to sign Osimhen.

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea wanted to sign Osimhen from Napoli during the last transfer window, but it did not work out.

The Nigerian was thereafter left out of the Napoli squad after falling out with the new gaffer, Antonio Conte.

The 25-year-old was thus offered to Galatasaray with transfer window in Turkey still opened and the former Lille of France forward decided to sign for the Super Lig side on loan.

Evra is still bewildered Arsenal did not go for Osimhen.

The former Premier League star who helped Man United keep 98 clean sheets in 278 appearances said on his podcast that there is no pure goalscorer at Arsenal.

‘Tell me, Galatasaray signed Osimhen, how can Arsenal not sign one? You can get Ivan Toney, but you didn’t. Arsenal don’t have a goalscorer.

‘Bukayo Saka is very good as a winger, but he is not a number 9. Only Saka scores for Arsenal. When we were playing for Manchester United, we had Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney and Berbatov. We had 4 goalscorers. Arsenal don’t even have one.’

Osimhen has made 7 appearances for Galatasaray this season and scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists.
