Twin terror, Osimhen and Lookman hit Super Eagles camp in Abidjan
Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen and Atalanta hitman, Ademola Lookman have swelled the number of Super Eagles players in their Abidjan camp to 21 ahead of Thursday’s game against the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin in the penultimate game of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Osimhen has scored eight goals and provided four assists in nine games across all competitions for his Turkish Super Lig side this season while Lookman has also netted eight times and bagged five assists in 14 appearances and both are expected to spearhead Nigeria’s attack against the Cheetahs who were mauled in the reverse fixture back in September at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Lookman scored two of the goals and Osimhen came from the bench to score the third.
Also in camp are goalkeepers Amos Obasogie, Victor Boniface, Alex Iwobi, Victor Collins, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ola Aina, Wilfred Ndidi, Maduka Okoye, Alhassan Yusuf, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Gabriel Osho, Bruno Onyemaechi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Calvin Bassey.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and striker Sadiq Umar are yet to arrive as at Tuesday afternoon.
The Super Eagles need just a point to seal their passage to their 21st Africa Cup of Nations final tournament.
