Thrilled Eid Naser to resume rivalry with Paulino at Grand Slam Track in 2025

Nigeria-born Paris 2024 Olympics 400m silver medalist, Salwa Eid Naser (Ebelechukwu ) says she is thrilled to be among the athletes that will compete at the Grand Slam Track next season.

The Grand Slam Track, founded by four-time Olympic gold medalist, Michael Johnson, is athletics’ new global stage for elite track competition with a world-class roster of talent from across the globe.

Eid Naser, the Nigeria-born Bahraini who won the 400m silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics and made history at the 2019 World Championships when she ran 48.14 seconds, the third-fastest performance of all time to win the gold medal, becoming in the process the youngest-ever 400m world champion is also a two-time Diamond League 400m champion.

‘Joining Grand Slam Track is a huge opportunity, and I’m determined to keep pushing myself with every race. This league presents an exciting challenge, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.

‘I know this season will push me to new limits, and I’m focused on making each race count. It’s all about working hard, getting better with each step, and showing up stronger every time,’ said Eid Naser.

The Bahraini will also resume her rivalry with Olympic champion, Marileidy Paulino who has completely dominated their head-to-head clashes.

The Dominican Republic athlete has won all eight head-to-head clashes since they first met in May 2023 at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix where Paulino ran 48.98 to win and beat Eid Naser who ran 50.27 to place second.

Paulino tops the world list with the 48.17 she ran to win the Olympic gold while Eid Naser is second, also with the 48.53 she ran to win the silver medal.
